I like to consume many kinds of media. And as a teenage girl in the media age that often consists of “indie films”. I enjoy things like I Believe In Unicorns 2014, As You Are 2016, Juno 2007, The Perks of Being a Wallflower 2012, Ladybird 2017, etc. And they are all popular works because they have something about them. Nostalgic, moody, often reveled in some kind of silence or curious narration of the main character. An indie films plot often uses many different real things as metaphors for what harsh realities these characters go through. And most importantly they do it in a cinematic, aesthetically… almost relatable way. Feeling like a fever dream that you may have had. The movie Light Light Light is just like that. Telling the story of two girls taking an adventure through life and finding themselves. I think it is amazing when a film can have little to no dialogue throughout and still make such a statement in every scene.

The scene pictured here is probably my favorite. One of the main characters Mimi, stumbles into a local bar and dances, its sentimental and kind of chaotic. But it brings me peace, in lots of ways I relate to her.

Light Light Light shows how the main character reflects on her life. On the experiences that maybe fueled the situation she is in now. Lost and depressed, empty even. It is a story many age groups can find familiarity in. The young, in love, never failing feeling of angst. It is all beautifully wrapped in this film and I cannot wait to watch others like it. It is a definite recommend from me.

Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As always, thank you for reading my loves.
